Song of the Day: Led Zeppelin – “Moby Dick/Bonzo’s Montreux”

This day marks the birthday of late great Zeppelin drummer John Bohnam, who would have been 68 years old today. It’s natural to think of “Moby Dick,” the drum-solo dominated instrumental track that appeared on Led Zeppelin II, as a Song of the Day choice for today, but we’re going to go with a different version of the song — a mix-up of “Moby Dick” and the drum solo from the Coda album “Bonzo’s Montreux.” This version was first released on the first Led Zeppelin box set back in 1990 and is a case of two great tastes tasting great together as the riffs from “Moby Dick” mix real well with the drumming from “Bonzo’s Montreux.”
