Song of the Day: Creedence Clearwater Revival – “Wrote A Song For Everyone”

Happy birthday wishes go out to John Fogerty, who turns 73 years old today. This soothing track is off CCR’s classic Green River album, although maybe it’s not quite as famous as some the album’s other songs, such as “Bad Moon Rising,” Commotion,” and the title track. It’s hard not to sway along with the lyrics: “Wrote a song for everyone/Wrote a song for truth/Wrote a song For everyone/And I couldn’t even talk to you.” According to Songfacts, this song had a particular influence on Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy. Fogerty also had a 2013 album by the same name that consisted solely of CCR classics performed with special guests such as Bob Seger, Miranda Lambert and Kid Rock. Fogerty also has a collaboration with Billy Gibbons on the way; click here to check it out.
