Lindsey Buckingham parts ways with Fleetwood Mac

Guitarist/vocaliist Lindsey Buckingham is no longer a part of Fleetwood Mac, according to a report from Variety Monday.

The band is planning on heading out on tour this year, but via a statement provided to TMZ Monday, they confirmed Buckingham won’t be part of the festivities. Replacing Buckingham, according to TMZ, will be Mike Campbell of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Neil Finn of Crowded House.

“Lindsey Buckingham will not be performing with the band on this tour,” the statement says. “The band wishes Lindsey all the best.”

Buckingham was part of Fleetwood Mac from 1975 to his departure in 1987, then came back on board as part of the band’s reunion in 1997. Buckingham and former Fleetwood Mac bandmate Christine McVie released a collaboration album and an accompanying tour in 2017.
