Song Of The Day: David Gilmour – “There’s No Way Out Of Here” (1978)

Happy Birthday greetings to David Gilmour, one of the greatest Rock songwriters, guitarists and vocalists of all time, who turns 72 today. It’s easy to make the argument that Pink Floyd would never have reached its exalted, iconic status without the addition of Gilmour in early 1968. He brought a musical muscularity and an emotional depth that the band did not have without him, a fact that founding member Roger Waters could never really accept over the years. When Waters seized more control of the band after Wish You Were Here, Gilmour responded by releasing this excellent self-titled debut album, which remains a Rock classic.
