Song of the Day: Siouxsie and the Banshees – “The Passenger”

This song resurfaced as of late due to it being featured in the film I, Tonya. Off the 1997 cover album Through The Looking Glass, this version takes the famous 1977 Iggy Pop track and kicks things up a notch. Per Wikipedia, Pop, who was inspired to write the song from his travels with David Bowie, gave his approval of this version to MTV’s 120 Minutes in 1990. “That’s good,” Pop said. “She sings it well and she threw a little note in when she sings it, that I wish I had thought of, it’s kind of improved it … The horn thing is good.”
