Judas Priest’s Former Drummer Dave Holland Died At 69

Multiple press outlets including Spanish newspaper El Progreso, have confirmed that former Judas Priest drummer Dave Holland had passed away on Tuesday, January 16 at Hospital Universitario Lucus Augusti in Lugo, Spain. No cause of death had been revealed, but the newspaper has said that his body has already been cremated.

Holland had played with band Trapeze but what made him recognizable is his stint in Judas Priest. Holland remained behind the kit for a majority of the 80’s playing on classics such as British Steel (1980), Point Of Entry (1981), Screaming For Vengeance (1982), Defenders Of The Faith (1984), Turbo (1986), and Ram It Down (1988).

In 2004, Holland ran into some trouble as charges where brought up that included attempted rape and five counts of indecent assault on a 17 year old student that he was giving lessons to. He later spent eight years in a British prison for the incident. Blabbermouth has said “Holland always denied any involvement in the attempted rape of the special-needs student and was at one point said to be planning to write a tell-all biography of his life and career.”
