Song Of The Day: The Beach Boys – “Feel Flows” (1971)

Today we remember Carl Wilson, lead guitarist and vocalist for the Beach Boys, who was born on this day in 1946. He was kind of like the George Harrison of the Beach Boys, overshadowed in the early days of the band by the two big Lennon/McCartney personalities in the form of Brian Wilson and Mike Love. Carl Wilson was a sweet man with the sweetest and arguably the best voice in the band. By the early Seventies when Brian was lost in la-la land Carl took charge of the band, writing and producing material that was criminally under-appreciated not just by his bandmates but by the general public too, like this track from the brilliant album Surf’s Up. Rest in peace, sweet Carl, you will never be forgotten.
