Hear Paul McCartney’s long lost Christmas album

Here’s a cool item for any Beatles fan. Paul McCartney’s mysterious Christmas album, which he put together in 1965, surfaced on YouTube this week, and it’s certainly interesting to listen to.

The collection, which McCartney titled “Unforgettable,” was created as a gift for the other members of the band. Only four copies were made, but now it’s available for everyone to hear.

There are no original McCartney or Beatles songs on the collection; rather, it’s a compilation of hits from acts such as Nat King Cole, The Rolling Stones, The Beach Boys, and Elvis Presley, with McCartney playing DJ in between. It’s the DJ bits that are fun to hear, as well as thought of hearing what McCartney came up with as a gift for his bandmates.

Per NME, McCartney meant for the album to be something fun for his bandmates to listen to “in the evening.” Listen below:
