Song of the Day: Quiet Riot – “Cum On Feel The Noize”

On this day ten years ago, Quiet Riot frontman Kevin Dubrow passed away at age 52 due to an accidental cocaine overdose. On this same day in 1983, Quiet Riot peaked at No. 5 with this cover of the Slade classic, which wound up being their biggest hit. It reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and helped the album Metal Health become the first metal album to top the Billboard album charts. Quiet Riot’s drummer once said Slade didn’t care much for the cover and the success it found in the states, but it’s a fun cover and both the song and video bring back some early MTV nostalgia.
