Today marks the birthday of the late great Glenn Frey, who would have turned 69 years old today. This track was an all-star effort, written by Frey, Don Henley, Jackson Browne, and J.D. Souther, with Henley and Frey teaming up on vocals. With that type of personnel you’d expect this song to come out terrific, and it did. The song, which was the opening track on the 1973 Desperado album, was influenced by Old West outlaws Bill Doolin and Bill Dalton, who were part of two of the most famous Old West gangs: The Dalton Gang and the Doolin-Dalton gang, a.k.a. the Wild Bunch.
