Today marks the anniversary of the end of Creedence Clearwater Revival, who split up way too soon on this day in 1972. This is one of my favorite CCR rockers, marked by a killer intro that leads into a terrific driving rock song. Said to be about a dislike of the commotion of fast-paced life, this song was released as a B-side to “Green River.” This song might seem to be too good to be a B-side, but it was that way by design as per Songfacts, John Fogerty liked to maintain a high standard of quality on CCR releases, which included releasing a single-quality B-side with the A-side.
