Song Of The Day: John Lennon – “Bring On The Lucie (Freda Peeple)” (1973)

The world changed on October 9th, 1940, when John Winston Lennon arrived kicking and screaming on a delivery room table in Liverpool, England. He was a shooting star who would only spend 40 short years walking on this earth, but in that relatively small window he and his musical partners in The Beatles led the way for nothing less than a massive and fundamental revolution in contemporary music and modern culture. Transformative people like this only come around ever couple hundred years or so, if we’re lucky. Happy Birthday Johnny, and on behalf of the band and all of ourselves, thanks for the wonderful gifts you left us with, like this gem from Mind Games. It’s as on point today as it ever was.
