Leonard Cohen tribute show featuring Elvis Costello, Sting, Lana Del Rey to take place in Montreal

A tribute concert to Leonard Cohen will be taking place in Montreal on November 6, roughly one year after the singer passed away at age 82.

Details of the show were announced on Facebook Sunday. Among the artists listed to play the show are Elvis Costello, Lana Del Rey, Sting, k.d. lang, Feist, Philip Glass, Wesley Schultz and Jeremiah Fraites of The Lumineers, Damien Rice, and Patrick Watson.

Cohen’s son, singer-songwriter Adam Cohen, said in a statement, “My father left me with a list of instructions before he passed: ‘Put me in a pine box next to my mother and father. Have a small memorial for close friends and family in Los Angeles…and if you want a public event do it in Montreal. I see this concert as a fulfillment of my duties to my father that we gather in Montreal to ring the bells that still can ring.”
