Ohio’s Buffalo Killer have been an outfit that needs more credit. Where many bands have moved on and/or sold out, Buffalo Killers are a band that stays true to their uncontrollable blues roots all while making subtle changes.

On October 20th the boys will release their 8th album entitled Alive And Well In Ohio. It can be preordered here.

Along with the announcement of the album, a tasty jam entitled “Need A Changin” has dropped. Sandwiched somewhere between Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, and the Black Crows the Buffalo Killers churn out a fine southern psychedelic groove. On the song singer/songwriter/bassist Zach Gabbard has this to say:

“I wrote the lyrics to ‘Need a Changin’” in the days after there was an incident involving a gun at my kids’ school. All the terrible shit in the world had hit too closely to my heart. Like we’re singing, “we need a changin, need it now,” and that’s more relevant now than ever.“
