Song of the Day: Fiona Apple – “Why Try To Change Me Now”

Happy birthday wishes go out to Fiona Apple, who turns 40 years old today. Earlier this year we featured her track “Criminal” as a Song of the Day, and today we have something on the opposite end of the spectrum. This song was written by Cy Coleman in 1952 and eventually was performed by Frank Sinatra on his 1959 album No One Cares. Also covered over the years by Bob Dylan, Apple’s version was part of the 2009 Coleman tribute album The Best Is Yet to Come: The Songs of Cy Coleman. She definitely is a good match for this song.
