Steely Dan announced Monday they plan on carrying on with their scheduled October tour dates, eight days after the death of guitarist/co-founder Walter Becker.

The news jibes with co-founder/singer/keyboardist Donald Fagen’s statement he made in his tribute to Becker that was written after Becker’s death, in which Fagen stated, “I intend to keep the music we created together alive as long as I can with the Steely Dan band.”

Per Jambase, the band plans not only on playing their previously scheduled October dates but has added a date as well — an October 22 show at the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford, Connecticut.
