Song of the Day: Delaney & Bonnie – “Hard Luck and Troubles”

On this day back in 2008, the rock world lost a giant in Jerry Wexler, who played a part in signing or producing some of the biggest names of his era — Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Dusty Springfield, The Allman Brothers, and Wilson Pickett, among others. One of the albums he had production credits on was the 1970 Delaney & Bonnie album To Bonnie from Delaney. This dandy track was the album opener, but give the whole album a listen as there’s plenty of good stuff there. Wexler would have been 100 years old this year.
