Released 50 years ago on March 12th, The Velvet Underground & Nico is a monumental album. So much so that surviving member John Cale will pay the album tribute for its 50th anniversary.

The press release read: “The show will take place May 26 at Liverpool Waters, Clarence Dock–an open-air stage in Liverpool, England. For the anniversary show, Cale will be supported by the Kills, Clinic, Wild Beasts, Gruff Rhys, Nadine Shah, and Fat White Family.”

“It’s such a privilege to have this calibre of artistry about—its not that they fit the legend, rather the legend is part of each of them,” Cale said.

You’ll also remember that last April, Cale preformed the album with members of Animal Collective and the Libertines, as well as other guests.
