Song of the Day: Judas Priest – “Dissident Aggressor”

Happy birthday wishes go out to Judas Priest bassist Ian Hill, who turns 66 years old today. This song is the pick for today because it was Hill’s choice when asked in a 2011 interview which Judas Priest song he’d pick over the others. “The beat is almost unique for us,” Hill said of the song. Originally released on the 1977 album Sin After Sin, the song went on to win a Grammy for Best Metal Performance as part of the A Touch of Evil: Live album. This song may be permanently altered for me now though after seeing the top YouTube comment for it that says “Rob Halford stepped on a Lego at 0:36.” Now I can’t listen to the opening without laughing.
