Song of the Day: The Cramps – “Garbageman”

Here’s a favorite from The Cramps off their 1980 album Songs the Lord Taught Us. It’s a good gateway song to the band and has a timeless coolness factor to it for sure. Aside from the head-nodding riffs, the highlight of the song might be the opening line “You ain’t no punk, you punk” which is delightfully silly at first but also makes perfect sense. The song was once selected by Guitar World as having the 57th worst guitar solo of all time. Whether that list is worth taking seriously or not, it doesn’t make the song any less cool.
