Hello, Rockists! Long time no see, and I’ve missed you terribly.

I’m back with big, shiny, metal news. Next week on January 18th, the Hall of Heavy Metal History induction ceremony for 2017 will take place in Anaheim, California.

If you’re unfamiliar, the Heavy Metal Hall of Fame yearly awards give recognition to industry contributors, musicians, instrument and percussion makers, artists and journalists who’ve helped developed the current scope of all things metal. It should be noted that Pat Gesualdo, the founder and CEO of the Heavy Metal Hall of Fame, wants to preserve the traditional of metal excellence though community outreach. The HMHoF is a division of D.A.D. (Drums and Disabilities), another non-profit which bring therapy programs to disabled children in over 15 countries.

I told you all that metal fans were just the greatest. This year, I could not agree with their list of carefully selected inductees more.

Included in next week’s ceremony are:

Ronnie James Dio (RIP)

Metal Blade Record

Lemmy Kilmister (RIP)

The Scorpions

Frankie Banali (Quiet Riot, W.A.S.P)

Don Airey (keyboardist for Deep Purple)

Ross Friedman (Manowar)

Vinny Applice (studio drummer for the likes of Dio, Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell)

Andy Zildjian (of SABIAN percussion)

Rudy Sarzo (Quiet Riot, touring guitarist for Ozzy during the “Blizzard of Ozz” and “Diary of a Madman” records)

AND RANDY RHOADS (infamous guitarist, played on “Blizzard of Oz”).

Pretty amazing list, right? The ceremony will also feature live performances by Dio Disciples, Ross the Boss (performing an all Manowar set), Budderside and Diamond Lane.

FUN FACT: Did you know that Quiet Riot’s  “Metal Health” was the first heavy metal record to EVER debut on the Billboard top 100?

The HMHoF induction event ALSO kicks off the annual NAMM conference also taking place in Anaheim. NAMM, better known as the National Association of Music Merchants, is a yearly conference for all things music and music-related. NAMM, another non-profit says this of their yearly trade-shows, ” [NAMM is a] hub for people wanting to seek out the newest innovations in musical products, recording technology, sound and lighting.” NAMM will also feature performances by Ritchie Sambora, Bernie Williams and his All-Star Band, and Ronnie Specter and the Ronettes.

Rocknutters, I get to humble brag and tell you that I will be attending both events. I will be sure to bring you lots of pictures and report back with new products, interviews, reviews and impressions of it all.

Do you agree with the list? What would you like me to get lots of pictures of? Thanks, everyone! See you soon! XOX TEMMIE
