Song of the Day: Dave Clark Five – “Maze of Love”

Happy birthday wishes go out to Dave Clark, who turns 74 years old today (actually there are sites saying he was born in either 1939 or 1942, but we’re going with the latter). This is a late ’60s track from the Dave Clark Five and is certainly heavier and more psychedelic than some of the other material they produced. As this song shows, rock had definitely changed from when they were competing with the Beatles earlier in the 1960s. The folks in the comments section for this video keep pointing out the similarities to Sgt. Pepper on this track, but I think it’s pretty cool in its own right.
