Song of the Day: The White Stripes – “Seven Nation Army/Death Letter” (Grammys 2004)

Happy birthday wishes go out to Meg White, who turns 42 today. The time Jack and Meg rocked the Grammys is a favorite moment of a lot of White Stripes fans. They started with a bit of “Seven Nation Army,” but it wasn’t until they tore into “Death Letter” that this performance took off (a bit ironic, seeing as how much “Seven Nation Army” is used to fire up crowds at sporting events). Everything built to an explosive climax, and afterward the Grammy crowd was a bit stunned, to no surprise. The performance is regarded as one of the most memorable Grammy moments in recent memory.
