Song of the Day: George Harrison – “Isn’t It a Pity (Version One)”

Today marks the passing of the legendary George Harrison, who passed away 15 years ago on this day. What can you say about this song other than to say it’s one of Harrison’s finest moments? Harrison originally wrote the song in 1966 and offered it to the band for inclusion on an album, but it was rejected, even though it was worthy, to say the least. It hit the streets in 1970 as part of the album All Things Must Pass and reached No. 1 on the charts in the U.S. and Canada. The lyrics certainly carry as much weight today as they ever did.
