Eagles not reuniting, Don Henley says

theeaglesDon Henley confirmed in a Washington Post article that ran Monday the Eagles are done, and he doesn’t seem too happy about how there was false hope spread earlier this year about the band reuniting.

In September, Henley was quoted regarding a reunion as saying the band could get back together if Glenn Frey’s son Deacon took his place. “At some point in the future, we might work our way round to that. You know, Glenn has a son who can sing and play quite well. And one of the only things that would make sense to me is if it were his son.”

Henley told the Washington Post though that he stressed after making the quote there had been no discussions about a reunion.

“It really pissed me off, frankly, because I hadn’t talked to the kid about it or his mother,” Henley said. “So it’s just another lesson in keeping my mouth shut.”

Henley told the Post there would be no reunion without Glenn Frey.

“I don’t see how we could go out and play without the guy who started the band,” Henley said, adding “It would just seem like greed or something. It would seem like a desperate thing.”
