Dave Davies denies Kinks reunion but confirms collaborations with brother Ray

raydaviesDave Davies this weekend denied reports that The Kinks were planning on a reunion but said he and his brother Ray have collaborated on music and want to work together more.

The Kinks disbanded in 1996, but Ray Davies sparked the reunion talk with comments he made to The Sun recently, saying “Dave and I will definitely work together again. And we want to play live… Maybe The Kinks could play Glastonbury?”

Dave Davies took to social media on Saturday to clarify the comments.

“Me and Ray have not spoken about Kinks shows at all – although we’re trying to work together on other stuff and have worked on music together,” Dave Davies posted on Facebook. “In the meantime we both have albums finished. My album Open Road I did with my son Russ comes out in 2017!”

We’ll just have to wait and see whether The Kinks ever hit the stage again, but for now, music on the way involving the Davies brothers is certainly good news.
