Song of the Day: Hour Glass – “B.B. King Medley”

Today marks the 45th anniversary of the tragic death of Duane Allman, who was killed in a motorcycle crash on this day in 1971 at age 24. His all-too-short time on Earth was enough to put him high on the list of greatest rock guitarists, and he’s one of those tragic losses who no doubt would have left an absolutely monstrous legacy had he lived a long life. Here’s a terrific track that you can find on the 1972 compilation Duane Allman – An Anthology that was performed by the pre-Allman Brothers group Hour Glass, which also featured his brother Gregg. The medley consists of “Sweet Little Angel”, “It’s My Own Fault”, and “How Blue Can You Get?”, and it’s awesome, so take a listen.
