Listen to Green Day’s first No. 1 album in more than a decade



Green Day’s newest album, Revolution Radio, dominated the Billboard 200 this week by moving more than 95,000 albums units. That almost doubled sales of the No. 2 album (Norah Jones’ Day Breaks sold 47,000 units).

Pitchfork isn’t a fan of the new album. “Over the course of 26 years, Green Day have gone from pop punks to rock stars,” the site writes. “Their latest, however, has little effect on their legacy and lapses into pandering, embarrassing lyrical misfires.”

Green Day’s probably laughing about the article while selling out shows and enjoying their spot atop the Billboard 200.
