Song of the Day: Jimi Hendrix – “Dolly Dagger”

Today marks the anniversary of the death of Jimi Hendrix, who died on this day in 1970 at age 27. Hendrix’s death is the type of major historical event that we’ll remember every year with a Song of the Day, but unfortunately, there’s not too many original versions of Hendrix songs available on YouTube. We’ll pick “Dolly Dagger,” which Hendrix wrote for his girlfriend Devon Wilson and was the last Hendrix single to crack the Billboard Hot 100. It was included on the posthumous album Rainbow Bridge, and the single was released with “The Star-Spangled Banner” as a B-Side. The video that was chosen to be made for this song though is… well, kinda whatever.
