More To The Mixture: Josh Homme Also Guests On Lady Gaga’s “Perfect Illusion”

Lady Gaga continues to branch out in mysterious ways. Just as we reported on what could be the collaboration of the year between her and Kevin Parker, Gaga’s rock prowess continues to grow. It has also been outed that none other than Kyuss member, Them Crooked Vultures lead, Post Pop Depression-er, and dynamic Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme added guitars to the mix. As Rich’s article already points out, the Tame Impala mastermind Parker has taken part in the “Perfect Illusion collaboration.

To add to the intrigue, many rockers have come our and voiced their support for what Gaga is doing. Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson praised Gaga for her fashion sense and musical abilities, saying she has a “great sense of drama.”

He added: “I think she’s great, and I agree with her – she’s not the next Madonna. She’s way better than that. Because, first of all, she can sing — she’s got a belter of a voice — and she’s a really good instrumentalist. She’s got a great sense of drama. And anybody that could turn up to an awards ceremony dressed as a bacon sandwich gets my vote. I mean, she’s great.”

Anthrax main man Scott Ian has gone as far as saying she’s a “genuine metalhead.” Gene Simmons has has backed her saying, “She was a candidate to be the worlds next great rock star.”

Gaga has also been sited hanging out with Rob Halford. While some people might see these collaborations as a “betrayal,” I have to say that I’m genuinely interested in what direction this could take rock. What are your thoughts? Does this leave a bad taste in your mouth? Lady Gaga’s fourth album is expected to be out by the end of the year.
