Rage Against the Machine Front Man Zack de la Rocha Releases Solo Single “Digging For Windows,” Possible Solo Album For 2017

zackdelarochaZack de la Rocha, Rage Against the Machines’s poignant front man, has stepped out from the shadows to release his new solo single “Digging For Windows.” While there was a project with former Mars Volta drummer Jon Theodore entitled One Day As A Lion. This marks the first time that de la Rocha has used his name to promote his own material. The song is classic Zach that refuses to hold back. His lyrical prowess shows as the song reads, “This city’s a trap my partner / Under the lights of they choppers / Bodies tools for they coffers / Not worth the cost of our coffins / I stare at a future so toxic / No trust in the dust of a promise / Won’t mark the name on a ballot / So they can be free to devour our options.” The bassline booms on in a minimal form.

It also seems that a full length is all but confirmed officially. Producer El-P tweeted, “The Zack de la Rocha album is happening in 2017. And yes this is new material made this year and yes there is more where that came from. And that’s all the info I’m authorized to give out. Been keeping my mouth shut about my work with de la Rocha since January when we did it. It hurt. Now I’ll commence keeping my mouth shut about the rest.”

As a lot of us know, de la Rocha gave his blessing for Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, and Brad Wilk to join up with Public Enemy’s Chuck D. and Cypress Hill’s B-Real handling the vocals in Prophets of Rage. Prophets of Rage have extended and invitation that de la Rocha can join them if and when he’d like.
