Song of the Day: Pantera – “Mouth For War”

Today would have been the 50th birthday of legendary Pantera and Damageplan guitarist Dimebag Darrell, who was shot and killed during a gig with the latter in Columbus, Ohio in 2004. Dimebag’s legacy continues to live on as he continues to be regarded as one of the great all-time guitarists and through of course the annual Dimefest. Here’s Dimebag and the boys from Pantera at the top of their game in the hard-hitting opening track off Vulgar Display of Power. Whether or not it’s your cup of tea, or whether or not Pantera has been ruined for you by the antics of Phil Anselmo, there’s still plenty to appreciate here and in much of the band’s work.
