Could we see a Jack White-Dolly Parton collaboration soon?

dollypartonCould Dolly Parton be the next country star to work with Jack White?

White has already done great work with Loretta Lynn, most notably his production on her highly-acclaimed 2004 album Van Lear Rose. Nothing is imminent with Parton, but the interest is mutual, and Parton said in an interview with The Guardian that she is certainly open to the possibility.

“Well, I love him to death,” Parton said. “[The White Stripes] did one of the greatest versions ever of Jolene. I had a chance to have dinner with Jack in LA not long ago and we talked about the possibility of someday down the road that we may get together to do something. I haven’t had time to sit down and really focus with someone else on an album. But he would be someone wonderful. And I think we would make some beautiful music together.”

Parton is currently in the middle of her first full North American tour in 25 years and will be releasing her new album, Pure and Simple, on August 19. The title track from the album can be heard here.
