Song of the Day: Led Zeppelin – Hots On For Nowhere

On this day in 1976, the Led Zeppelin album Presence began a two-week run at No. 1 on the U.S. charts. So, here’s a good opportunity to feature a cool Zeppelin song off that album that might not get as much love as many of the others. The lyrics, written by Robert Plant, reflect in part his frustration with Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page and manager Peter Grant. Per songfacts.com, the lyric “I’ve got friends who would give me the shoulder”, which reflects Plant’s feelings at the time towards Page and Grant, originally was “I’ve got friends who would give me fuck all”, but it couldn’t get past censors. It’s definitely a catchy and likable song.
