Last chance to see Lynyrd Skynyrd, Peter Frampton on tour?

Two iconic rock acts are joining up again for what will be one of the summer’s biggest class rock tours. So far, the bands have announced 12 shows, the first of which will kick off on June 3 at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY.

Over the past few months, the classic rock world has been jolted by the deaths of some of the genre’s most famous artists: David Bowie, Keith Emerson, Lemmy Kilmister and Glenn Frey among them. Both Lynyrd Skynrd and Peter Frampton have been very active on the touring scene recently, but Skynyrd did have to cancel the last of their 2015 shows as guitarist Gary Rossington recuperated from heart surgery (via Rolling Stone). Rossington appears to have fully recovered, and is ready to tour, but it’s a reminder that the genre’s heroes are mortal. Make it a point to check them out together if you haven’t already! Skynyrd and Frampton have toured together regularly since the mid-1970s.
