Guitar beats knife.

A tragic knife attack left one dead and several other injured recently in Jaffa, Israel. A Palestinian was reportedly attacking people in the street. From Loudwire:

During the incident, a man named Yishai (pictured in the Facebook post above), who was wearing a Tool shirt at the time, managed to fend off an attacker while he was stabbing people in the street. “I was sitting down playing guitar and I heard screaming from across the street,” Yishai told Israeli news station Channel 2 (via the Associated Press). “I saw a man run at me with a knife, I ran at him with the guitar and smashed it in his head. He was so stunned and didn’t know what to do with himself and then started running away.”

The attacker continued stabbing others as he fled before eventually being shot and killed by authorities. At least one person, an American tourist, died in the attack.

From Metalsucks:

Unfortunately for Montgomery, who was wearing a Tool shirt, his guitar is totally busted up. So Ed Dvir, a Philadelphia resident, has set up a GoFundMe to help replace it. The campaign’s goal of $4,000, enough to buy QUITE a guitar, has already come close to being reached in just 17 hours; Yishay is going to be able to supply an entire band if funds keep coming in at this rate! And the guy deserves it; who knows how many lives or injuries he saved by temporarily knocking the terrorist off his course.

The campaign’s organizer has allegedly received an offer from “a rock star in NJ” to donate an autographed guitar, and he’s in touch with Tool’s management to see if the band wants to get involved as well. Hey, maybe Yishay can finally coax a new album out of them?
