Opera Based On Pink Floyd’s The Wall In The Works

That’s right rocknuts — not only is Pink Floyd’s The Wall being turned into an opera, but Roger Waters is involved.

It seemed he almost didn’t want to get involved at all. Waters said, “It had been my experience that experiments in collaboration between the worlds of rock and roll and the worlds of symphonic music were generally disastrous and should be embarked upon with extreme trepidation,” he said. “But they were extremely persuasive I sat there not expecting to be moved, and I was moved. Very moved. So I approach this project with great enthusiasm.”

I’ll be interested to hear what this turns into. Waters himself is also working on new material with a theme against violence. When talking to Yahoo Music Waters poses the question, “Why are we killing the children?” Maybe Waters will tackle this if in fact the new material is a concept album.
