Goo Goo Dolls announce summer tour with Collective Soul

johnrzeznikThis is for 90s rock fans: the Goo Goo Dolls and Collective Soul and Tribe Society will tour this summer, making lots of stops in Midwestern towns, including Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Huber Heights, Ohio — close to the home of Rocknuts. General tickets and VIP packages are now on sale. For more information, check out the Goo Goo Dolls’ website.

The Goo Goo Dolls are a pop-tinged alt rock band known for acoustic singles like “Name” and “Come To Me,” even though it’s most famous album is Dizzy Up The Girl, which produced the No. 1 hit single “Iris.” For the Goo Goo Dolls to tour with Collective Soul — a post-grunge  band that toned down the hard rock of the early 90s — will definitely be a nostalgic 90s throwback to many concert-goers, full of radio-friendly rock with an edge. The two rock veterans will be joined by new indie pop band Tribe Society, a group that clearly starts with 90s alt rock roots blended with electronica and power pop.

To get an idea for what you might hear, listen to Goo Goo Dolls’ “Name,” “Iris,” and “Let Love In,” check out Collective Soul’s “Shine,” and Tribe Society’s “Kings.”
