Song of the Day: Neil Young – “Long May You Run”

On this day in 2010, Neil Young performed this song to close out the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games. Originally off the album of the same name by The Stills-Young Band, the song is inspired by the “death” of Young’s Buick Roadmaster hearse that blew its transmission in 1965. The song proved to be a fitting and emotional ending for the games as it was punctuated by the extinguishing of the Olympic torch.
