On this day in 1975, “Some Kind of Wonderful” by Grand Funk Railroad reached its highest point on the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart (No. 3). The song was the band’s third top ten hit in the U.S. Originally recorded by Soul Brothers Six in 1967, this cover is real hard not to like. The song has also been covered by Huey Lewis and the News, Buddy Guy, Joss Stone, and Conway Twitty, among others.
