R. Ring (featuring The Breeders’ Kelley Deal and Ampline’s Mike Montgomery) Working On Debut LP; Announce Tour Dates

rringR. Ring featuring Kelley Deal and Mike Montgomery is a project that has been around for a while now, releasing their debut 7-inch “Fallout And Fire” b/w “See” through Misra Records in 2012. R. Ring has followed that up with a small handful of split 7-inch releases shared with artists Protomartyr and Quailbones, an EP entitled ‘Rise,’ and the CD single ‘Make It Vegan.’

After a focus on small releases that is about to change. R. Ring announced that they’re working on their debut LP. In a statement from the group, facebook R. Ring posted “Kelley and I spent the weekend recording songs at the newly completed Candyland for a new R. Ring LP. We focused on the ones that we aim to add Lori Goldston’s Cello to…she’ll be joining us for some shows in February then we’ll record with her at the tail end of the tour. These dates will also feature Leo Deluca from Southeast Engine on drums.”

Aside from the fact that R. Ring is working on their debut LP, Lori Goldston’s name is attached to the project. Goldston is known for her work with Nirvana from 1993–1994 and appears on their live album MTV Unplugged in New York. She has also played with psychedelic drone metal titans Earth. Dates for R.
