Influential Post-Hardcore Outfit At The Drive-In Reunite Again

atthedriveinAs the lineup for 2016’s Rock On The Range was announced, there was one surprising addition to the list — El Paso rockers At The Drive-In were included in the line up. There was a reason this was surprising as back in 2012 lead guitarist Omar Rodriguez Lopes was quoted as saying, “For me, playing together again was to close the chapter on that era. We played those songs so we can hopefully move forward and do new music that represents where we are now. When playing those songs, I thought, ‘Here’s a person at the time that I don’t relate to anymore.”

With a statement like that, it was hard see a future for the band until now. ATDI announced that they’re returning in 2016 in a big way. Visiting their website you can now see self portraits of the band with the words “world tour, new music, and 2016”. I cannot remember the last time I’ve been this excited for new music.

To get familiar with the group take a look at this song of the day and Classics Revisited: Relationship of Command. You can also read an exclusive interview Omar Rodríguez-López and Tony Hajjar gave to Fuse here. Current tour dates can also be seen below. Whenever we’re given a hint of new music from this band, you can be sure I’ll be writing about it.
