Song of the Day: Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac – “The Green Manalishi (With The Two Prong Crown)”

Christopher Tahy Recalls: Bringing up Peter Green and his guitar role on John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers’ A Hard Road, it’s hard not to talk about Green’s psychedelic masterpiece, “The Green Manalishi (With The Two Prong Crown).” Green was a founding member of Fleetwood Mac. During the early years, Fleetwood Mac was a more blues and rock-oriented band. Green was a heavy user of psychedelic drugs, which helped push the man further into psychosis and schizophrenia. “The Green Manalishi (With The Two Prong Crown)” was considered the last great gasp for Green before his illnesses set in, and in time, lineup changes turned Fleetwood Mac into what we’re more familiar with today. “The Green Manalishi (With The Two Prong Crown)” is in my opinion a true classic and has even been covered by Judas Priest. I suggest that you seek that one out.
