Song Of The Day: Hooded Fang – “Graves”

Christopher Tahy Recalls: A band that I’ve been trying to champion since hearing their 2013 album Gravez, Hooded Fang is some rocking power pop perfection. While the album has a weird elevator-like intro, it’s the song that follows that I really want to focus on. If you a fan of a great hook, then “Graves” is one to look for. If the intense bass line doesn’t sell you, or the careening Thee Oh Sees energy isn’t enough, you’ll be shouting along with the call and answer chorus of “So many places and they’re all the same / Why you looking at me” in no time. It has a dirty art punk feel that mixes well with some of the other rocking poppy gems that are on this album.
