Rolling Stones heading back to the studio? Keith Richards is optimistic

rollingstonesThe Rolling Stones haven’t released an album since 2005’s A Bigger Bang, but perhaps one might be on the horizon.

In an interview with The Quietus, Stones guitarist Keith Richards sounded optimistic that the band could decide to record another album soon.

“I was at a meeting with the lads three or four days ago where everybody said, ‘Yes! We must go in the studio!'” Richards said. “Where or when I can’t yet say but in the near future. At last I’ve got the boys wanting to get into the studio. They all have to want to do it at the same time. That’s the thing with guys – you can’t drag ’em in at gunpoint – but I’ve got the message that they want to. I’m hopeful, y’know?”

Richards is slated to release his first solo album in 23 years on September 18, titled Crosseyed Heart. The album has been receiving positive reviews so far.

“The beauty of this record, as far as I’m concerned, I think it’s the only one I’ve ever made without the deadline,” Richards told The Quietus. :You must know the feeling, right? When you’re rushing around at the last minute? It was great fun to make with some top hands and some great players.”
